Histamine Dihydrochloride (CAS Nr.: 56-92-8) is used in the skin-prick test to diagnose histamine intolerance, which causes symptoms such as rhinitis, headache, palpitations, urticarial, pruritus and gastrointestinal discomfort. Histamine Dihydrochloride is also used as a drug to prevent the regression of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in patients. As a medication to prevent AML, it is used after the patient has finished his or her initial chemotherapy cycle. It is also universally available as a topical analgesic to remedy pains associated with sprains, bruises, backache, arthritis and strains.
